In Italy the Building Heritage School is more exposed to risks than any other Western country.

This situation is mainly due to the fact that 70% of schools were built before 1974 then with rules that did not take account of seismic risk.

The housing stock School is represented by approximately 42,000 buildings; of these, 24 000 is well located in areas classified as "high risk of earthquakes." Of the 24,000 buildings, 80% was achieved before 1974.

Recent government measures have made available funds for the safety of these buildings but still, basically, the interventions did not begin.

The risk of serious harm to people is so high, given the large number of students who inhabit the buildings.

Prevention is therefore the only way now possible to mitigate damage to people. Among the tools to prevent and mitigate the risk, the Seismic Sensor Threshold Differentiated "Bavarians" is the only instrument capable of performing issues Alerting Rapid.

For more information on the risks faced by their Region / Province, see annex document, here below, drawn up by Legambiente.
